A Small Green Change Begins in the City

In everyday urban life, moments that reconnect people with nature often come quietly.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group once again carried out meaningful Environmental Protection Activities, this time in Pohang, where residents and volunteers came together to create a greener living space.

This activity was not just about planting trees. It was about restoring a connection—between people, community, and nature.

Community Participation in Environmental Protection Activities

Residents and Volunteers Plant Together

Ahead of Arbor Day, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Pohang branch organized a “Green Sharing in the City” campaign at a local apartment complex.

Around 60 residents participated in the Environmental Protection Activities, planting two crape myrtle trees and 400 viola flowers.

The effort contributed to expanding green areas within a residential environment where such spaces are often limited.

What made the moment meaningful was not just the planting itself, but the shared experience of creating something together.

Hands-On Programs That Deepen Environmental Awareness

Seed Ball Experience Connects People to Nature

The Environmental Protection Activities went beyond simple planting.

Participants took part in a “seed ball” program, where soil and compost were mixed with flower seeds to form small balls. These were then placed throughout the green areas.

This hands-on experience allowed residents to engage directly with nature, making the activity both educational and memorable.

Through simple interaction with soil and seeds, the importance of environmental care became something participants could feel firsthand.

Positive Community Response and Lasting Impact

A Brighter Space, A Warmer Community

Residents expressed positive reactions after participating in the Environmental Protection Activities.

Some shared that working with soil and creating seed balls helped them rediscover the value of nature.

Others noted that seeing the transformed space brought a sense of brightness not only to the surroundings but also to their daily lives.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group emphasized that even small actions can create meaningful change when people come together.

They also shared plans to continue Environmental Protection Activities and community-based programs that encourage public participation.

Growing a Sustainable Culture of Environmental Protection

The Environmental Protection Activities carried out by the Shincheonji Volunteer Group highlight an important shift—toward participation-based environmental care in urban spaces.

As cities continue to grow, efforts like these remind communities that nature can still thrive within daily life.
