Community-Led Environmental Cleanup in Palbok-dong, Jeonju
On the morning of the 4th, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Jeonju Branch conducted an environmental cleanup and carbon neutrality campaign around Sangni 3-gil to Palbok 7-gil in Palbok-dong, Jeonju.
The activity lasted two hours, from 10 a.m., with 31 volunteers participating to help improve the industrial complex surroundings.
Practicing Carbon Neutrality Through Action
“Let Nature Be Green” Campaign on the Streets
Volunteers carried banners and hand signs reading “Let Nature Be Green”, delivering messages on environmental preservation and the importance of carbon neutrality to nearby residents and passersby.
Systematic Waste Collection and Sorting
Wearing official volunteer vests, participants used gloves, tongs, and sorting bags to collect waste efficiently.
A total of approximately 550 liters of household waste was collected, then carefully separated into general waste and recyclables on-site.
Voices from Citizens and Volunteers
A local citizen who observed the activity shared appreciation, saying it was difficult to clean due to age but felt grateful for the volunteers’ efforts.
A volunteer in their 20s from Hoseong-dong noted that despite the cold weather, the experience was meaningful and highlighted the need for continued environmental cleanup.
Organized Preparation and Sustainable Commitment
Prior to the activity, the Jeonju Branch conducted a site inspection to identify areas with heavy waste accumulation and allocated manpower efficiently.
The branch leader expressed gratitude to participants for volunteering despite freezing temperatures and emphasized that small actions like this can collectively protect the planet, reaffirming the branch’s commitment to remain a reliable environmental steward in the local community.
