Dry winter air lingers into early spring, quietly increasing the risk of wildfires.

On the 27th, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch carried out a wildfire prevention campaign at Daecheon Park in Jwadong, Haeundae-gu, as part of its regular “Let Nature Stay Green” volunteer program.

Rather than delivering warnings from afar, the campaign focused on helping citizens see, think, and participate in prevention.

Turning Information into Awareness on Site

Sharing Real Wildfire Damage

A total of 10 volunteers from the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch took part in the campaign, welcoming around 100 citizens to the site.

At the center of the activity was a photo exhibition showing wildfire damage from 2025, allowing visitors to understand the real impact of fires that often begin with small, careless actions.

Participation Makes Prevention Personal

Sticker Campaign and Everyday Messages

To encourage active engagement, the campaign featured a participatory corner titled “What causes wildfires?”

Citizens placed stickers as they reflected on possible causes, transforming prevention from passive listening into personal consideration.

Volunteers also shared pamphlets with wildfire prevention messages, along with small items such as candies, wet wipes printed with safety phrases, snacks, and warm green tea, delivering the message in a natural and friendly way.

Warm Encounters in Cold Weather

Despite the cold, volunteers greeted visitors with bright smiles.

Citizens responded with encouragement, describing the volunteers as welcoming and expressing appreciation for the meaningful activity.

Some visitors mentioned hearing recent wildfire news in nearby areas, while others noted that campaigns like this are especially necessary during dry seasons.

Visual Impact That Leads to Caution

Visitors who viewed the photo exhibition shared that seeing wildfire damage visually made the danger feel more real.

Many reflected that they would be more cautious while hiking or spending time outdoors.

The quiz-style participation helped spark curiosity and kept citizens engaged, distinguishing the campaign from simple leaflet distribution.

A Small Action That Invites Ongoing Care

The campaign stood out by encouraging citizens to become active participants in wildfire prevention, not just recipients of information.

Volunteers observed that even short moments of reflection—looking at photos, choosing a sticker—were enough to shift attitudes toward greater care for nature.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch emphasized that wildfire prevention requires everyday attention from everyone and shared plans to continue seasonal, community-based environmental activities through its “Let Nature Stay Green” program.
