The Shincheonji Bartholomew Tribe held a health promotion campaign for senior members, providing medical screenings, consultations, and winter care through on-site support.
Health becomes more precious with age, especially during the coldest days of winter.
On the morning of the 28th, a health promotion campaign was held at Shincheonji Yeongdeungpo Church for members aged 70 and older, offering care, reassurance, and practical medical support.
The campaign was organized by the health and welfare department of the Shincheonji Bartholomew Tribe, continuing a series of initiatives previously held in August and September of last year.
A Campaign Focused on Care and Accessibility
Third Session Dedicated to Senior Well-Being
This event marked the third session of the health campaign, designed to provide on-site medical services for senior members who require closer health management during prolonged cold weather.
Approximately 35 participants attended, receiving support from professional medical staff affiliated with the Bartholomew Tribe’s health and welfare department.
Step-by-Step Health Checks in a Familiar Space
Comprehensive Medical Screening Process
Over the course of two hours, participants underwent a structured health check process, including:
Completion of a medical questionnaire
Blood pressure and blood sugar measurements
A simple cognitive screening
Lifestyle and dietary consultations
The questionnaire allowed participants to record current health conditions, past medical history, and family history. Blood pressure was measured directly by medical staff using electronic devices to assess potential hypertension risks.
Guidance Beyond Measurement
Consultations focused on daily habits and nutrition, helping participants better understand how small lifestyle adjustments could support long-term health.
To help seniors stay warm during winter, thermal sleep socks were also provided after consultations.
Relief and Reassurance Through On-Site Care
Participants expressed appreciation for the accessibility of the campaign, noting that receiving medical guidance in a familiar setting reduced the burden of hospital visits during cold weather.
The calm atmosphere and attentive explanations helped ease anxiety, allowing seniors to leave feeling reassured and better informed about their health.
Continuing Health Support Through Community Care
The health and welfare department emphasized that such initiatives aim to support healthy and stable faith life among senior members.
Building on previous activities, including emergency response education, the Bartholomew Tribe plans to continue offering practical medical knowledge relevant to everyday life throughout the year.
