The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu–Gyeongbuk Alliance carried out long-term disaster recovery, wildfire response, and veterans support, practicing public value through action-based volunteering across the region.
Standing Where Help Is Most Needed
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu–Gyeongbuk Alliance spent the past year focusing on disaster response and support for veterans’ organizations, putting public value into action across the region.
Rather than symbolic gestures, their activities were grounded in long-term, on-site engagement—responding where recovery was needed most and standing alongside communities facing hardship.
Disaster Response as a Community Effort
From Recovery Sites to Preparedness Campaigns
According to the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu–Gyeongbuk Alliance, disaster-related activities—including wildfire recovery and disaster preparedness campaigns—were carried out over 86 days.
During this period, 693 volunteers worked across 109 locations, providing direct and indirect support to 11,906 citizens.
These efforts functioned as a hub for public–private cooperation, contributing to community recovery and resilience.
Focused Wildfire Recovery on the Ground
Consistent Presence in Heavily Affected Areas
Wildfire recovery formed the core of disaster response efforts.
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu–Gyeongbuk Alliance deployed approximately 470 volunteers over 61 days, carrying out recovery and environmental restoration activities at 69 sites.
Through this sustained involvement, cooperation frameworks for disaster response were strengthened, reinforcing collaboration with local volunteer centers and improving readiness for future emergencies.
Honoring Sacrifice Through Ongoing Veterans Care
Support Rooted in Respect, Not Ceremony
Care for veterans and their families continued steadily throughout the year.
Over 10 days, volunteers visited 15 locations, with 213 volunteers supporting 604 veterans and bereaved families.
These efforts translated remembrance into action—offering care not as a one-time event, but as a consistent presence rooted in gratitude.
Sharing the Meaning of Remembrance with the Public
Commemorative Events That Invite Participation
In connection with the 75th anniversary of the Korean War, a remembrance event was held with representatives from local veterans’ organizations.
Photo exhibitions, hands-on experience programs, and cultural performances created space for citizens to reflect on the meaning of sacrifice and national service, allowing remembrance to be shared rather than observed from a distance.
Public Value Practiced Throughout the Year
From National Events to Everyday Spaces
Public value activities extended beyond disaster and veterans support.
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu–Gyeongbuk Alliance carried out a national flag display campaign around Liberation Day and delivered winter bedding and traditional food to veterans’ organizations at year’s end.
In preparation for an upcoming international summit, environmental cleanup activities were also conducted near major venues, encouraging civic awareness and readiness for a global event.
A Commitment to Action-Centered Volunteering
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Daegu–Gyeongbuk Alliance views disaster response, respect for veterans, and environmental protection as essential pillars of community well-being.
Through close cooperation with local communities and consistent, practice-oriented service, the alliance continues to demonstrate how public value is built—not through words, but through presence and action.
