Shincheonji Volunteer Group Spreads Year-End Warmth Across Busan and Gyeongnam Through Community Love Relay
Shincheonji Volunteer Group carried out kimchi sharing, senior care, local market support, and environmental campaigns across Busan and Gyeongnam to spread year-end warmth.
As the year draws to a close, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan–Gyeongnam branches carried out a large-scale community love relay, delivering warmth through kimchi sharing, support for local businesses, environmental campaigns, and senior care.
Rather than a single event, these activities unfolded across multiple regions—including Busan, Masan, Geoje, and Yangsan—responding to real community needs during the vulnerable year-end season.
Honoring Patriots Through a 3.4-Ton Kimchi Sharing Initiative
Large-Scale Kimchi Distribution for Veterans and Bereaved Families
The highlight of this year-end effort was a large-scale kimchi-sharing initiative for veterans and their families.
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan–Gyeongnam Regional Alliance, together with Shincheonji Busan James Tribe, prepared and delivered 2.2 tons (400 boxes) of kimchi over December 2–3 to 16 veterans’ organizations across Busan and Masan, including associations of disabled veterans and bereaved families.
Recipients expressed deep gratitude, noting that the care shown by younger generations reaffirmed the value of their lifelong sacrifices.
Continued Dedication Recognized in Masan
In Masan, over 150 volunteers participated in preparing an additional 1.2 tons of kimchi, which was delivered to veterans’ organizations and seniors living alone.
In appreciation of this sustained dedication, the local veterans’ association presented a letter of appreciation to the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Masan Branch.
Revitalizing Local Markets Through Heartfelt Participation
Traditional Market Support in Geoje
To support struggling small businesses, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Geoje Branch launched a market shopping campaign at Okpo Traditional Market.
More than 70 volunteers purchased goods directly from vendors and distributed hand warmers, offering both practical and emotional encouragement to merchants facing economic hardship.
“Secret Santa” Visits to Neighborhood Shops in Busan
Meanwhile, volunteers from Shincheonji Busan transformed into Secret Santas, visiting 42 neighborhood shops in Hadan-dong over two days.
Dressed in festive attire, they delivered small gifts and messages of appreciation, offering shop owners a moment of encouragement during a challenging season.
Environmental Care and Emotional Support for Seniors
“Baekse Manse” Senior Care Event in Yangsan
In Yangsan, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Yangsan Branch hosted a pre-Christmas “Baekse Manse” event at a local community center.
The gathering featured carols, games, and gift-giving, creating a joyful atmosphere that offered emotional comfort and companionship to seniors.
Carbon Neutrality Awareness Campaign
Earlier in the month, volunteers also conducted a “Nature, Let’s Stay Green” campaign in observance of International Mountain Day, encouraging citizens to practice carbon-neutral habits in everyday life.
A Year-End Relay Built on Consistency and Care
What connected these diverse activities was not scale alone, but consistency and sincerity.
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group did not focus on one-time gestures but on sustained, community-centered action—listening closely and responding where help was truly needed.
As the year closes, these efforts leave behind more than numbers. They leave warmth, dignity, and the quiet assurance that no neighbor is forgotten.
