Environmental and safety campaign by Shincheonji Volunteer Group

Not One-Time Events, But Timely Actions That Matter

Throughout 2025, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Eunpyeong Branch carried out 15 volunteer activities with more than 200 volunteers, delivering community-based care closely connected to everyday life.

Rather than focusing on one-off events, the key theme for the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Eunpyeong Branch this year was “timeliness.”

The branch identified needs as they arose and responded promptly—contributing to resident safety, environmental improvement, and community care across Eunpyeong District.

Major activities included environmental cleanup, wildfire prevention campaigns, and support for veterans, with a particular focus on Bulgwangcheon Stream as a shared living environment rather than just a walking path.

Creating Visible Change Along Bulgwangcheon

March & June Cleanup Activities That Reduced Repetition

In March, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Eunpyeong Branch conducted a cleanup along approximately 500 meters of Bulgwangcheon, from the Ecological Experience Center to Dubitnarae Bridge near Eungam Station.

Volunteers collected both general waste and recyclables, emphasizing waste separation to enhance the long-term impact of the cleanup.

In June, the same section was cleaned again.

By returning to the same site, volunteers reduced recurring waste issues and naturally engaged with citizens using the stream, encouraging everyday environmental responsibility through action.

Turning Awareness Into Participation: Wildfire Prevention in Gupabal

Making Prevention Information Easy to Act On

In May, a wildfire prevention campaign was held in the Gupabal area, targeting hikers and local residents.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Eunpyeong Branch displayed information on wildfire damage and prevention methods, while interactive pledge sticker events and bottled water distribution encouraged active participation.

By delivering clear and practical guidance, volunteers emphasized that small actions in daily life can prevent major disasters, turning awareness into real-world practice.

Practical Support During the Summer Heat

August Heatwave Prevention Kits for Veterans

In August, volunteers visited the Eunpyeong District Veterans Hall to deliver heatwave prevention kits to national merit recipients.

Each kit included cooling packs, cooling towels, neck coolers, and electrolyte supplements, along with snacks and handwritten letters conveying encouragement.

Beyond material support, volunteers spent time checking in with seniors and listening to their stories—combining physical assistance with emotional care.

Environmental Education Through Family Participation

EM Mud Ball Experience in October

In October, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Eunpyeong Branch organized an EM mud ball river cleanup campaign at Bulgwangcheon.

A hands-on booth allowed participants to make EM mud balls and throw them into the stream, easily explaining the principles of water purification.

As families joined during their walks, the activity naturally evolved from a campaign into a neighborhood experience, delivering the message that environmental protection is something everyone can take part in.

Continuing Community-Centered Volunteer Work

A deputy branch representative stated that volunteer work is not about grand slogans, but about being present where help is needed, when it is needed.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Eunpyeong Branch plans to continue focusing on resident safety, environmental improvement, and community care—contributing steadily to everyday life in the region through timely action.
