Recognition Earned Through Consistent Service

On the afternoon of February 5, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch attended the 2025 Gimpo Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony held at the main auditorium of Gimpo City Hall’s Third Annex Building. The event celebrated individuals and organizations that made meaningful contributions to local community development through volunteer service.

Under the theme “Connected Through Volunteering,” the ceremony highlighted how consistent acts of service can bring people together and strengthen social bonds. Among the honored organizations, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch stood out for its steady commitment and tangible impact within the community.

Awards That Reflect Dedication and Impact

Dual Recognition from Provincial and City Volunteer Centers

Based on a comprehensive evaluation of volunteer hours, level of contribution, and community influence over the past year, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch received:

A Chairperson’s Award from the Gyeonggi Provincial Volunteer Center, and

A Plaque of Appreciation from the Gimpo Volunteer Center Director

These honors acknowledge not only the quantity of volunteer work but also the quality and consistency of service delivered by the branch.

Long-Term Participation in Senior Meal Support Programs

39 Volunteer Activities Over Two Years

One of the key initiatives contributing to this recognition is the branch’s active involvement in the “Cham! Good Love Meal Truck” program, operated by the Gimpo Volunteer Center. This program provides free lunches to vulnerable senior citizens across the city.

Members of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch participated in food serving and dishwashing services across several districts, including Gurae, Tongjin, Yangchon, Masan, and Gochon. Over approximately two years, volunteers completed a total of 39 service activities, sharing warm meals and genuine care with elderly residents.

Voices from the Ceremony

Leadership Rooted in Gratitude and Unity

Upon receiving the award, the branch leader shared heartfelt remarks:

“When our volunteers encourage one another and serve with joyful hearts, I believe our hands can become a great source of hope for our neighbors.”

The vice branch leader also expressed appreciation, noting that consistent participation and leadership involvement—especially during recent volunteer activities—helped motivate members and strengthen team spirit.

Recognition from the Volunteer Center

The director of the Gimpo Volunteer Center, who had previously visited a volunteer site in Gochon-eup, remarked:

“The Gimpo Branch shows exceptionally high participation rates, and their passion and dedication are evident across all volunteer activities.”

Such feedback highlights the trust and respect the branch has earned within the local volunteer network.

Volunteering as a Path Toward Community Peace

The awards received at the 2025 Gimpo Volunteer Appreciation Ceremony reflect more than achievements—they represent a journey of steady service, teamwork, and sincere care. Through programs like senior meal support and consistent local engagement, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch continues to demonstrate how volunteering can foster connection, dignity, and hope.

As the branch moves forward, it remains committed to serving the community with humility and perseverance, believing that even small acts of service can contribute to lasting peace and well-being.
