Caring for elderly neighbors requires steady hands and sincere hearts. The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch has continued this mission by joining the community-based “Love Meal Truck” initiative, offering dishwashing and kitchen cleanup support to ensure seniors enjoy warm meals with dignity. Their efforts highlight how consistent volunteer work can deeply strengthen a community.

Steady Volunteer Service for Elderly Meal Support

Since March of last year, the Gimpo Branch of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group has actively participated in the “Love Meal Truck” program hosted by the Gimpo Volunteer Center.

This effort has already reached 39 service sessions, rotating between serving meals and dishwashing throughout the year.

How the Program Works

The “Love Meal Truck” operates through cooperation among over 20 local organizations, providing nutritious free lunches for seniors in financial difficulty. Volunteers take part in cooking assistance, serving, cleanup, and kitchen organization.

Sincere Hands Behind the Scenes

On the day of service, 12 volunteers—ranging from young adults to middle-aged residents—worked together to wash dishes, sanitize kitchenware, and organize utensils thoroughly.

Voices From the Volunteers

One volunteer in their 60s, who has been participating since last year, shared:

“When I wash dishes, it feels like cleaning up after serving a meal to my own parents. Seeing the seniors smile and express gratitude keeps me coming back.”

They added a heartfelt intention to continue serving with pride as a community volunteer.

Community Recognition and Future Plans

Leaders at the Gimpo Volunteer Center praised the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch for its exceptionally high participation rate, expressing hopes that their enthusiasm continues and inspires involvement in additional local programs.

Expanding to Serve More Residents

The Gimpo Branch plans to prepare early so that the service can continue seamlessly from March next year. Their goal is to expand volunteer initiatives and help close welfare gaps within the city.

The ongoing work of the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gimpo Branch demonstrates how consistent, caring service can uplift seniors and create a stronger, more connected community. Through thoughtful acts like dishwashing and kitchen support, volunteers bring warmth to those who need it most—one meal at a time.
