Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch Leads Ongoing Anti-Drug Campaign Across the City

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch is conducting a continuous anti-drug campaign throughout key city locations, reaching thousands of citizens with prevention messages and interactive activities.

Protecting Communities Through Awareness

The rising drug-related concerns in South Korea have prompted various organizations to step up preventive measures. Among them, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch has been actively leading a city-wide anti-drug campaign, engaging directly with citizens to promote awareness and prevention.

Beginning in September near the Bummil-dong Jayu Market, the campaign expanded to multiple areas throughout October and November—bringing critical awareness to thousands.

Anti-Drug Campaign Expands Across Busan

From Local Streets to Marathon Grounds

The Busan East Branch has strategically increased its outreach:

September: Street campaign near Jayu Market in Bummil-dong

October: Awareness activities in front of Pascucci near Bummil-dong

November: Participation in the Busan Marathon hosted by a local newspaper

During the 27th Busan Marathon held at Dadaepo Beach Park on November 16, volunteers connected with over 8,000 participants and citizens for more than four hours, delivering vital anti-drug messages.

Citizen Participation at the Core of Prevention

To ensure meaningful engagement, the campaign included:

O/X quizzes about drug slang

Distribution of educational materials

Direct conversations with citizens

A particular focus was raising awareness about the danger of casually using drug-related slang, which can unintentionally normalize harmful behavior—especially among youth.

The message was clear: Prevention begins with everyday language.

Addressing a Growing Concern in Busan

A representative from the Busan East Branch emphasized:

“Busan has recently become a major route for drug smuggling, increasing risks among younger generations. Drug issues cannot be solved alone—they demand a united effort from society. We will continue delivering accessible messages and interactive content for citizens.”

Their commitment highlights the ongoing need for community-driven prevention efforts.

A Steady, Community-Focused Approach to Safety

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Busan East Branch continues to lead impactful, grassroots-level preventive actions at major city landmarks. Through direct communication, educational activities, and strong civic engagement, the organization is building a safer environment for citizens and raising awareness about the dangers of drug misuse.

With sustained campaigns and expanding outreach, they remain dedicated to protecting youth and strengthening community safety.
