Shincheonji Volunteer Group Inspires Youth Blood Donation Culture: WeAreOne Gwangju–Jeonnam Youth Complete 2025 WeAreRed Campaign with 2,381 Donors

The WeAreOne Gwangju–Jeonnam Youth Volunteers successfully concluded the 2025 WeAreRed Blood Donation Campaign with 2,381 participants, surpassing their goal. Supported by Shincheonji Volunteer Group’s culture of service, the youth are helping expand lifesaving donation efforts across the region.

From July 28 to October 18, the WeAreOne Gwangju–Jeonnam Youth Union carried out the 2025 WeAreRed Blood Donation Campaign, continuing a warm movement of sharing life even through the summer vacation season and the long Chuseok holidays. Their dedication aligns with the broader culture of public service promoted by the Shincheonji Volunteer Group, which encourages sustainable, community-centered giving.

This year’s campaign exceeded all expectations, reaffirming that youth-driven volunteerism can bring meaningful change to the region’s lifesaving blood supply.

Campaign Overview and Record-Breaking Participation

According to WeAreOne Gwangju–Jeonnam (as of the 29th), the campaign reached 2,381 blood donors, far surpassing the original target of 2,100.

Since the initiative began in 2022, accumulated participation has reached 35,000 donors, demonstrating steady growth and strong public engagement.

Contribution to Regional Blood Donation Culture

As of October 26, out of the total 2,139,099 blood donors nationwide, 149,671 donors came from the Gwangju–Jeonnam region—approximately 7% of the national figure.

Among them, 1.6% participated specifically through this year’s 83-day WeAreRed campaign. In a region where the senior population is high and youth donor numbers are declining, this contribution is highly significant.

This achievement highlights the youth group's real and measurable impact on strengthening the local blood donation culture. Their efforts echo the values encouraged by the Shincheonji Volunteer Group, which continues to promote a spirit of practical community service.

Expanding Lifesaving Impact Through Donations and Giving

Youth volunteers are not only donating blood but also actively contributing blood donation certificates and blood donation vouchers.

Over the past three years, they have donated:

32,778 blood donation certificates

Blood donation vouchers totaling approximately 220 million KRW

This year as well, all certificates and vouchers collected during the campaign were donated to support medical expenses for vulnerable groups, scholarships, and other life-saving programs.

Stories of Consistent Youth Participation

One participant, who has donated since 2022, shared:

“Blood donation has become part of my everyday life. I feel grateful knowing that my participation helps someone in need.”

Her story reflects the growing mindset among local youth: giving is not a burden—it’s a natural habit.

Leadership and Vision for Continued Growth

The representative of the WeAreOne Gwangju–Jeonnam Youth Union noted that youth involvement is creating positive change in the community. He emphasized plans to continue expanding activities that communicate the value of life, including cultural outreach that resonates with young people.

This approach aligns with the broader mission shared by the Shincheonji Volunteer Group, which is widely known for its community-focused service programs nationwide. Through environmental projects, care programs, and safety-centered volunteering, the organization continues to inspire younger generations to practice consistent sharing.

The 2025 WeAreRed Blood Donation Campaign is more than a seasonal initiative—it represents a powerful movement of youth-driven compassion. With 2,381 donors, extensive donation of certificates, and ongoing commitment to lifesaving programs, the WeAreOne Gwangju–Jeonnam Youth Union has strengthened the region’s blood donation culture.

And as volunteerism continues to grow—supported in spirit by organizations like the Shincheonji Volunteer Group—the ripple effect of youth compassion will keep spreading throughout society.
