Korean War veterans participate in the “One The Flower” longevity photo project organized by the Shincheonji Volunteer Group.
The Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gwangju Branch delivered framed portraits to 149 Korean War veterans through the “One The Flower” longevity photo project.
The project was organized as part of a volunteer initiative recognizing the dignity and life stories of veterans who served during the Korean War.
Through this activity, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group aimed to create a meaningful opportunity for appreciation and remembrance.

A Volunteer Project Celebrating Veterans’ Lives
From May to September, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group Gwangju Branch and Honam Ilbo co-hosted the 2025 Longevity Photo Project – “One The Flower: Life, Bloom Once More.”
The project began during Family Month and Patriots and Veterans Month, when younger generations often express gratitude to veterans.
Seven veteran associations in Gwangju participated in the project, and due to strong response and support, the campaign has been extended until November.
A Comfortable and Meaningful Experience
Portrait Photography and Volunteer Services
During the event, veterans received professional portrait photography and framed photographs.
Additional volunteer services were also prepared to create a welcoming atmosphere, including:
Makeup services
Hairstyling
Hand massage services
Diffuser crafting activities
Themed photo zones
These activities helped provide veterans with a relaxed and memorable experience during the portrait session.
Voices of Korean War Veterans
Several veterans shared reflections about the experience.
One veteran noted that memories of June often bring difficult recollections of the war and lost comrades, explaining that being remembered today carried deep meaning.
Another veteran expressed gratitude not only for the portrait but also for the opportunity to take a group photo with fellow veterans.
Gratitude Shared Between Generations
Volunteers also expressed appreciation for the opportunity to participate in the project.
They shared that capturing the smiles of veterans created a meaningful connection between generations.
Through this volunteer activity, the Shincheonji Volunteer Group created a space where gratitude, remembrance, and respect could be expressed.

The “One The Flower” longevity photo project continues to highlight appreciation for veterans who sacrificed for peace.
