🟦 The power of bringing generations together can create unforgettable moments of learning, gratitude, and unity.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Gwangju Branch) recently hosted a meaningful “Generation Connection Meeting,” inviting youth and national merit recipients to engage in open conversation. Through real-life stories shared by veterans, young people were able to understand the depth of sacrifice that helped build the nation they live in today.

🟩 1. Shincheonji Volunteer Group Creates a Space for Shared Values

The gathering was designed to help youth reflect on the meaning of patriotism by listening directly to veterans who served the nation.

Members of local veterans' organizations joined the event, speaking honestly about their personal experiences and sacrifices — offering young participants insight that textbooks alone cannot convey.

The Shincheonji Volunteer Group emphasized that honoring national heroes is essential for fostering a culture of respect among future generations.

🟩 2. Honest Questions and Powerful Testimonies

Students asked thoughtful questions about why veterans chose to fight and what they endured during wartime.

One veteran remarked:

“I still receive treatment for my injuries from the war, but I have no regrets. It means so much that young people remember us and show interest.”

A 17-year-old participant shared that hearing real stories helped him deeply understand the fear, sacrifice, and courage that shaped Korea’s history — and it strengthened his gratitude toward those who served.

🟩 3. Letters and Art Honoring National Heroes

To commemorate the 77th Armed Forces Day, the event included an award ceremony for the “Letter & Art Contest.”

Students from elementary to high school wrote heartfelt letters and drew artwork dedicated to national veterans and soldiers.

This creative experience allowed youth to express respect and recognition in a personal and meaningful way.

🟩 4. Taegeukgi Handprint Performance: A Symbol of Unity

The event concluded with a symbolic Taegeukgi handprint performance, where youth and veterans placed their handprints together to complete a large Korean flag.

This act represented unity across generations, showing that the values of patriotism and remembrance continue when they are shared together.

🟦 The Shincheonji Volunteer Group (Gwangju Branch) reaffirmed its commitment to helping youth naturally learn and practice the value of honoring national heroes.

They plan to continue offering programs that build connection, understanding, and respect between generations.

When stories of sacrifice are shared, gratitude grows — and hope for the future becomes stronger.
